(Dedicated to a Great suffering people)

“To the brothers of Venezuela”

Courage Venezuela,

Pico Bolívar always towers over Caracas,

when on a dark night

despair turns the hearts.

Becomes and remains light blue (azzurreggia) the moon on the sea, this night

and Maracaibo kindled hope and love

while in the Caribbean Sea fishing it is just beginning.

Tomorrow is another day brothers

and when the light will rise on the extreme east of the country,

on the Orinoco Delta the fishermen will raise up their nets

and their work will be, new hope,

for the body and soul of all of you.

In Valencia a child born today,

while in Barquisimeto and Ciudad Guayana

a boy will find work and another will marry.

The Orinoco always flows mighty and proud

to the north of the Andes and the Cordilleras

and Lake Guri, with unremitting efforts, working with its dams

for the country that now is preparing the evening rest.

Now the sun becomes red (tend to red)

the Sierra de Perija

and carries with it

the breeze of a new future.

Even today an old man dies and a new life blossoms.

Courage my brothers!

Courage!

A new dawn is coming:

mighty and proud.
