and wanted to colonize me
He wanted me to be like a shirt
which matches with his sinews
which melts in his bed every night
I was made for him; a truth
He was made for me; A half truth
When the days light steals away
I once just said, “I think”
His eyes transfixed at me
it was a heresy in the holy domains of love
Now I do not melt in his bed
The world now appears to be torn
and we are not two but too many;
“flayed” skinned / feathered / stripped
earthy life… i.e. the human life existence on earth, which is the beloved, in one of the dilly-dallying moment… a moment when the feeling of vulnerability renders uncertainties, anxieties doubts on its existence, silently converses with the lover, God, the most powerful force, humans ever known…….
and wanted to colonize me
He wanted me to be like a shirt
which matches with his sinews
which melts in his bed every night
rises to its height. #1 Aanand
my love pours from hair to toes… endless!
i am obsessed… i wish to possess
your eyes your lips your look
your embraces; that leave lingering scarlet roses scents…
secretes sweats; turn into mists
and silhouette your presence”

When the days light steals away
The cares of man #2 Aanand
a mirror a zerox a copy a shadow
love that has no beginning no end
i trust you as i trust me

I once just said, “I think”
His eyes transfixed at me
it was a heresy in the holy domains of love
And it spoiled the show #3 Aanand
i look at you as a rock floating in brilliance
in the midst of the ocean
your mossed hardness in emerald green
leaves a greasy sweetness.

From the seemingly single whole #4 Aanand
my greasy skin burns as burning bushes
it’s fiery flame like lightning
my lapis lazuli will flow its pollens
showering the dainty blue tiles

the beloved, recalls what the lover has been saying, goes pissed, in effect, like pointing a finger on the lover, “why why… where are you… is that love”?
who supervised the great war of Troy?
And the same helpless god
why if you were so powerful
you could not do anything
and people find you in mortal decay;
You are trapped and locked in holy books
and you look at their devilish deeds
I wonder if this is your world;
the fallen angel rises with every morn
while you are kept consigned
devised by your fans AAHAAHAHAAH..
here the beloved imagines an echo of consolation, by reflecting a corresponding reply from the lover, which defines humans as a rational beings, an intelligible being … ready to find solutions on whatever problems he might encounter.
who supervised the great war of Troy?
And the same helpless god
tragedies as the Titan #5 Aanand
my heart your heart are one
if i ache if i pain if i cry
your tears will be like acid
#5 Maelan Koia Sydney 2017
why if you were so powerful
you could not do anything
honey, your eyes are wide-open waiting
i am passing by… wait, watch me come
so i can hold you close to my arms!

and people find you in mortal decay;
You are trapped and locked in holy books
turned bastards #7 Aanand
darling, your coloured nails well manicured
where the rainbow curves to dance
#7 Maelan Koia Sydney 2017
and you look at their devilish deeds
dark clouds splash blindness
cling your arms to freshness
hear the sea’s gentle song,
we adore You we adore You
our wildness our silence our gentleness
#8 Maelan Koia Sydney 2017
I wonder if this is your world;
the fallen angel rises with every morn
while you are kept consigned
devised by your fans AAHAAHAHAAH
your whines your tantrums
echoing exaggerated whistle
come to my arms and hug me
soon we’ll be one… our wedding bell tolls!

Anand above poems laments: advocating for his people:
“India has seen political power slipping into the hands of tyrants also; and the Indian psyche has suffered bruises, which even after centuries, speak up, when ever someone touches us hard.”
“Today, we see Indian people decked with high grade degrees; living in high rise buildings, dreaming hi-tech dreams.”
The loss of commitment, and the loss of values have triggered this mindless march of people towards the self.
“Wealth is the final arbiter of greatness and goodness in this society of go-getters.”
“The institutions have been hijacked and manipulated so that there is still the signboard of Democracy, while inside, the democratic ideal has been badly mauled.” Maelan Koia Sydney 2017

The poem of Jernail Sir titled”The Lovers” is a poem that depicts the practice of love in a male dominated and patriarchal society.In such a society, the male love is egoistic, domineering and authoritative in an obvious fashion.Here in the poem, the concept of love is used over the beloved by the lover for domination, possession and destruction.The bodies of women are turned into war zones and battlefields in a society of male centric nature.The male lover in the poem considers the beloved one’s body as an object to fulfil his carnal desires and lusty inclinations.The body of the beloved is colonised and maximum benefits extracted from it by the wayward lover.Here in the poem, the female figure encounters gender discrimination from a male dominated society in a stark manner.The male lover exploits the beloved and after the optimum utilisation of available resources, she is left high and dry and to her own devices to fend for herself.The love here in the poem is effected by the male lover under the cloud of duress, threat and intimidation.At the end of the poem, the lady lover doesn’t give up, she throws out the monkey on her back and stands up for herself.The ownership attitude shown by the male lover on the beloved is shown the door.At the end of it all, the male psyche is banished and the beloved one truly takes over the reigns of power.The two souls who should live under one roof in an atmosphere of love are ripped apart and live a life of poles apart sort of nature.Yes when love is institutionalised, this is exactly the result, that we come across in this world.Kudos to you Jernail Sir for composing such a poem of meaningful nature about real love prevalent in this world.
