Numb tales told
to souls drained like water in a sieve
we saw plenty, plenty,
and plenty more
countless bulks that weigh
above our living, distribution
selves diffusing, dispersion
thinning out like melting butter
our living Africa;
While they see scanty facts
and scarcely see self-
floats into nightmares
with the sound of a better reality,
the haunting fragrance of sunken souls underground,
the empty desert winds expanding
hearts still murmuring stories of kinfolk
in a no man’s dwelling.
Then hear past the sand dunes,
hear past dreams, unnatural inspired dreams
the god of the sea mumbling,
sending dusky foams from her pits
the sea is no graveyard’s
knowing memories
altered breath.
