Poem by Livia York
I cannot resist your riddle,
A challenge to resolve, the little game we play
When truth we don’t reveal.
The riddle that is life lay out before our eyes,
It’s tempting to the point of wanting to unwind
The secret that is now, and cannot be denied.
I’ll play your game of guess
I’ll smile and keep your secret,
But I cannot deny the fun of
Knowing why, your secret I respect.
Two words, one name, too foreign to unwind
I guess is what I see.
But will you give your clue, or keep it all inside
Your heart that wants to play,
And keep the riddle hidden from my mind?
