That evening

Glow worms suspended over
the Intoxicated “motia “shrub
The queen of night ( raat ki raani)
Strutting her stuff on monsoon clouds
Sailing into the velvety darkness
Full of passionate secrets
A tapestry of Victorian weaves
Embossed on her heart
Chintz and lace spilling out of her
Dream laden eyes
The moon coy as a hill bride
Cocooned in layers of vermillion silk
Dusk dripping out of her blushing cheeks
Till her beloved whisks her away on
The midnight black stallion

O Marigolds Bright

The golden glow of gilded glee
Each tiny petal folded with precision
The brilliant aura giving the Sun a complex
Luminous balls of distilled Truth
Heavy with love
Humble with warmth
Marigolds ,magnetic ,magical
Fern like leaves ,a bed of green
A verdant foil for one so bright !
You teach me to smile through my tears
Marigolds bright
You light up my life
Offered in prayers to gods in temples
Strewn on graves of valiant warriors
Strung as garlands for bridegrooms and celebrities
You never gloat at your vivid visage
Medicinal and healing you hide your worth
By nodding your heads in gay abundance
