SOUTHERN PLACE / Poem by Susana Roberts

..(evening- Jan25-Rawson-Trelew-Patagonia Argentina-

This southern place has memorable instants
it makes to beat the fists of the evening
the remote moment of the birds
in the echoes of a light

The sun has turned into breeze
with stars in the hand
may be, some fear escapes
galloping on the road

I know that a wing so free
has become a nuance of tears
inside the laughter of children
on in so tired old beings

it looks like a strange animal
that suspends with its claws the crystal
from that fire that lives in me
such a seed in constant travel from the waves
there are seagulls pregnant of sea, their eyes
from the furious and beautiful light
that attends the wind.
