UNTITLED / Poem by Roula Pollard

UNTITLED

I wanted to ask him, why, how much
does love change people
i wanted to ask him how the sun reveals its love light
each new day, how it colors the dawn

I wanted to ask him
could he change love’s intensity
from red passionate desire
to tamed affection in blue shades
perhaps, I may re-learn love’s footpath

I wanted to ask him, did he value love
and above what? And if so much as sun rays
covering my body nude with warmth
where is he?

I wanted to ask him
how much senses speak to the soul of the heart
when his body covered me with the affection
of a wild flower

I wanted to ask him, if he knew
if he could feel, how much my soul
protects his soul, when under
hostile clouds and snow his was

I wanted to tell him…
“beyond love I love you”
then, when his eyes opened the window, beyond
and in the light, love is divine.
