Poems by Syedah Maryam Iqbal
Can an apology exterminate the venom of dark days?
Can an apology drag someone out of the blaze?
Can an apology make the dead survive?
Can an apology allow destroying all that is archive?
Can an apology bring back what is taken?
Can an apology amend what is broken?
Abominable apologies haunt us all our lives
As every aspect of life cannot be placed in archives
Even then we should try to get rid of abominable apologies,
By getting rid of those having such ideologies.
Obsessed with the thought of Grief
Obsessed with the thought of grief,
Obsessed with the thought of belief,
Are they enough to add to depressive reef?
The sea is so tremendously deep
to handle all kinds of Nature’s obsession
But the living kind cannot afford
any kind of Nature’s transgression.
In front of Nature, we are just like a leaf
That can be bestowed to fire making it the chief.
