A Force of Nature / Poem by Linda B. Scanlan

Poem by Linda B. Scanlan

A Force of Nature

She was too much for him
Her mind
the avalanche that consumed him
intimidated
his being shaken to the core
who was she …..

He had a dropper full of love
to offer her
she had buckets
and waterfalls
and tsunamis

He was
drenched
blanched
drowned
breathless

Leaving the ocean was the only way to inhale….

He had never been taught to swim….

Landlocked
frightened
the waves wild and fierce.. …

Would they pull him down
Or would he ride the pleasure of her
safely to new shorelines…..

He was not brave after all….

She was too much for him….
