Poems by Rajashree Mohapatra
A NEW CHRISTMAS MORNING
Oh ! listen …
The song of breeze
In silence of night , a voice rise
With melody , deep and slow
singing in admiration
To greet with joy the symbol of self dedication.
Drops of dews as tears of love
Through darkness we look above
Music in glory of internal self
The angels rejoice sing to wake .
The sacred light in heaven’s throne
Eternal his nature , fresh as petals of rose
Light descends as divine witness
Christ has come with power to bless.
All rejoice , celebrate his birth
He sacrificed to bring peace on earth
In the moments of stress and sorrow
In misery and mourning
Hope for a better tomorrow.
Let the tears of joy fill every twinkling eyes
Bliss of peace shower from the new sky
In New Christmas morning , a gift for all
Promise of a heaven as the glorious goal .
NOW YOU ARE IN LOVE
A distant star lost in remote past
Unveiled silently enters my heart.
In a blind valley wild flowers dance
Night sence in air your fragrance.
Lamenting stream seeks the sea
You cross the barriers to seek me .
Sing the song of your passionate love
Tuned at this hour at the tormented shore .
Love the waves of love surging in life
Aroma of our dreams cradles to-night.
You are in love , wind whispers
On your glowing face , a rare smile appears.
Together we search the crystalline tears embedded
In the cradle of solitude enliven on the time of bed .
Love is a current in life’s flow
Traces of memories at its shore .
Under arches of happiness and sorrow
Seeds of dreams dropped in furrows.
Mists of doubts
Touch fleecy clouds.
Tears flow , parched hopes glow
Soulful cries create a shadow .
Hue of rainbow with a distorted vision
Etched in silence , a secluded region .
Living moments with fragrance of love
Lost in wilderness tracing petals touch .
Words expressed love are now meaningless
Promises fly with broken wings in darkness.
Words from the core are now rootless wanderers
Eyes may long for virgin to adore.
Silent are the songs gone with the wind
Love engraved in heart has lost its rhythm.
