Tulip (An acrostic for Hela Tekali) / Poem by Muhammad Shanazar

Poem by Muhammad Shanazar

Tulip
(An acrostic for Hela Tekali)

Heaven-sent nymph, moves in the meadows,
Elates heart and minds and emits fragrance
Lent to her by Psyche: the goddess of beauty,
Adorable, I too am one of her acute devotees.

Tulip that enriches, boosts beauty of Spring,
Enhances and deepens effects of the breeze,
Kindled heart, bright brimming mind she has,
Auspicious, knows nothing but love and loyalty,
Lacerates darkness with beams of her own light,
Ingenuous, simple, she never can be hypocrite.
