Anca Mihaela Bruma (Romania)

My name is Anca Mihaela Bruma, I am Romanian living in Italy. My love for poetry started when I was just 9 years old, when I registered myself to some creative poetry writing group. It was a turning point for me as I started to discover the mysteries of the written word and its impact on the readers.

Since early age, I have always viewed writing poetry as the perfect medium which is able to depict profound unfathomable complexities of someone’s life or life itself, to render into words that which is unsayable, that ineffable, which can be truly deeper than the language itself. Through my writings, as well years of readings, I always looked to seek something beyond that which was apparent to others! I was fascinated to see how different aspects of truth were transfigured by different emotions, how experiences were poetized. I pursued seeing beauty expressed in all forms of art, not just poetry; creating a “thirst” within me to explore more and more for the knowledge of the mystery beneath and beyond it, as a symbol of something greater and higher with its own power to immortalize the expressions over the years.

I label my own writings as being “sensually mystique” or “mystically sensual”, a tool and path for women to claim their own inner feminine powers. Through my writings, I overpass what seems to be the limitations of the human but emphasizing the essence of the woman, of the Goddess. The main theme, Love, is basically presented as a transformative experience in life, the energizing force in the universe and empowering the creative feminine.

When I write, I envision it like a painting in front of my eyes, using lots of symbolism and allegory in order to apprehend the infinite intelligence, catching the reflections of truth with a strong mystic sense of infinity, of the boundless, of the opening out of the world of our normal finite expressions into the transcendental.

Like an “architect” of a language I “build” a language within a language, a universe within another universe, using vivid imagery, sometimes surreal, giving to the poetry a transcending feeling.

My writings are more kind of a spiritual autobiography, depicting a Reality behind all forms, with no space and time, a quantum view of existence. Right now, I see the writings as a form of being present inside the language, a paradigm of living which is encoded in the message itself, like a poetic consciousness with a spherical view of things, life, and love. It is more related with the realization of the greater self, beyond the mundane and well known laws of the society, as an expression of both the rational and the intuitive, in a concise form of poetry, increasing the awareness with new meanings expanded.

Existential Questions

What is left
of a soul that slowly
is flickering on the remnants
of its mind and heart?!?

How do I restore
my own fire
when everything is falling…
…yet growing?

How would I change
the rhythm of my Life
pressed against my own ear?

How can I be held responsible
for the consequences
when everything
is out of sequence?…

How would I freeze
that moment
which is irreplaceable
and insatiable?…

How would I remove
the sleepless nights
and unspent memories
from the edges of my Being?

How can I cure someone
who falls under the weight of My Heart
so myself… I will not remain unsung?

How many testaments of regrets
shall I write
to someone who has fallen
from the grace of my eyes?

How would I
not let the cadence of my heart
to be taken for granted?…

Each bite and sniff of my Life
reminds me of this fragmented World
and its hypnotic deception!…

The Geometry of LOVE

Love squared by Love
rounding each edge,
geometrizing each end
equalizing its alphabets,
circling its triangles.

Infinitesimally surrounding
transitory planes and lanes
within our pyramidal silences,
giving new lines and directions,
intersections of re-constructions
compasses and conjunctures
within rebellious Mathematics.
Endless rounded prismatic longings
leaving behind the theory of angles
rising trigonometry of the hearts
forgetting about scientific breaths
inside seven circles oscillating harmonies.
Love squared by Love
converting the Word into ART
orbiting among infinite number of points
till can be found just a line between me and you
galactically entangled, universally connected
with simplified distraction, amplified seduction
sometimes equivalent, sometimes equidistant
and the sum of the cosmic Algebra in two hearts.
Love squared by Love
in perpendicular stars and parallel moons
crossing the lines in algorithmic dances
and waves of psychedelic sensations,
kabbalistic stardust hologram inceptions
rhythmic complexities and elastic canvas.

Neither perimeters nor cross-sections,
neither postulates nor heart formula
when I am blue and you are green,
answers not to be based on x-y-z coordinates
or figure-ing out to be even
but ever-being presently present!
Love squared by Love
applied symmetries at Platonic shapes,
an amalgamation of binaries and analogues
sometimes with no common denominators,
no obtuse views but endless Mandelbrotian spirals
where human is able to accept a simple deviation.
Love squared by Love
embracing your concavity into my convex world,
summing up the trigonometry of our cosmic hearts
As LOVE tangles between two dots…
Love!
Not a mundane Geometry!

“For me writing now it is more related with the realization of the greater self, beyond the mundane…

When I write it disregards the well-known laws of the society, as an expression of both the rational and the intuitive. Writing as poetry increases my own self-awareness as well as my awareness of the world around me, giving them both new meanings and expanded views.

My “lyrical writings” now, as I like to call them, are more kind of a spiritual autobiography, depicting the reality behind all forms as I experienced it, with no space and time: I like to call it a quantum view of existence.

Right now, I see the writing of poetry as a form of being present inside the language, a paradigm of living, which is encoded in the message itself. To me poetic consciousness includes a spherical view of things, life, and love.”
