The Dusk load / Poem by Sehma Helaa

Poem by Sehma Helaa

The Dusk load

Dusk time has lost its glow,
who has flunked the test
And who still wants to know

Dusk time has no foe
Smiling to the waves
with allegiance, the stars would bow
weaving God ‘s perfect carpet
A canvas no one could draw

Dusk time has a shriek
And was eager to know
who have made it home
And who lost their paths in rocky lanes
Remote harbors they wanted to seek.

Dusk time has more than one quest
where is the weary sailor?
Beaten by the waves and looking for a rest

Dusk time has settled in my core
Begging my dejected soul to anguish no more
