DISAPPOINTED (A mock poetry) / Poem by Dr. Maria Miraglia

Poem by Dr. Maria Miraglia

DISAPPOINTED
A mock poetry

Just I did not think of
being so alone
that I can’t count
if not on myself
small island I feel now
in the largest of the archipelagos
I thought I had built
bridges of friendship
along which to walk
run towards friends
exchange smiles and greetings
give now and then
each other a pat on the back
share thoughts and
why not
laugh and cry together
To nothing was worth the effort
to put stone on stone
some pinch of love
loyalty and respect
I thought were the concrete
to keep them together
But if this is the result
I have to start again
equipped of good will
to reach the aim
