AMAZON BURNING
(an inverted fib poem)

Heat
waves
rushing
deep inside
this rich rainforest
Amazon burning forest cry
hear bush hogs screaming, tigers running, monkeys crying.
And trees and brushes wail to fire fury ashen grey
with toll of the eco-system
deforestation
let birds fly
over
grave
yard.

AMERICAN DREAM
(Fibonacci poem)

How
this
hate rage
will make you
wonder loud in fear
life’s worth from barrel of a gun
a bullet in the heart defies American dream.

Soul
(Fibonacci Poem)

Soul
strolls
around
mind, body
archiving actions
hereafter it will reveal itself
in the solstices and equinoxes as new born.

LOVE
(terza rima)

Where a lamppost spreads a white spotlight
Nursing silent night with canny purr,
A raccoon crosses there in sudden flight.

Where an old man walks his dog this hour
With a leash that’s buckled to his hand,
The dog stands briefly pat in belled collar.

Where a beggar sits while others stand,
Passersby don’t stop along their way,
No one cares about his open hand.

Life has parity that fills each day
That’s beyond the scope of a tomorrow;
How we see our world around at play
Makes it important: share love, not sorrow.
