GOLD LEAF

Gold leaf,
I see you amongst others on the branch.

Gold leaf beyond the window,
All bitter.

In deep thoughts, silent and unhappy,
Indifferent of the bright sun.

Gold leaf,
Intelligent but hopeless.

Everyone watching,
Is making fun of you.

Autumn leaf with faded colors,
People’s colors change too.

Translated by Ermira Babamusta

DAUN EMAS

Daun emas,
Ku lihat antara celahan ranting.

Daun emas nun di luar jendela,
Kedinginan.

Sepi dan sugul, memikirkan,
Terasing dari terik mentari.

Daun emas,
Pintar tetapi mengecewakan.

Tumpuan ramai,
Hanya menjadi bahan ejekan.

Di musim luruh nan pudar warna,
Begitu juga dengan warna manusia.

MONASTERIES

Silenced!
But not the bells!

Ancient stone walls,
with ancient mystical figures.

Away from the sun’s ray,
heated by the candles’ flame.

They pray for their sins,
kneeling in front of the crucified prophet.

The ancient dome,
oval shaped raised above the sky.

People perform rituals,
worshiping the walls,
and the figures inside.

Translated by Ermira Babamusta

BIARA

Sepi!
Tapi bukannya dari bunyi loceng!

Tembok batu purba,
dengan patung-patung mistik purba.

Jauh dari sinaran mentari,
diang dek kehangatan dian.

Mereka mohon keampunan dosa,
melutut di depan pengutus yang tersalib.

Kubah purba itu,
tinggi membujur ke langit.

Manusia mengerjakan ibadat,
menyembah tembok,
dan berhala di dalamnya.

ROCKS

Heavy rock.

It is not moving,
pretending it is mad.

With lifeless passion,
It lies there all gray, egoistic and alone.

Overtaken by jealousy,
surrounding its every inch.

Heavy rock,
Strong but mysterious.

When the dusk falls,
Its face it reveals,
Becoming pale.

Heavy rock,
Lying there, mystic and resentful.

Translated by Ermira Babamusta

BATUAN

Batu berat.

Tidak bergerak,
berpura-pura marah.

Keghairahan yang lesu,
Di situ menyendiri, kelam dan angkuh.

Tewas dek rasa cemburu,
tiap inci persekitarannya.

Batu berat,
Teguh tapi penuh misteri.

Pabila senja berlabuh,
Menampakkan wajahnya,
Kian pudar.

Batu berat,
Ajaib dan berdendam, terbiar sendiri.

OXYGEN FEBRUARY

Oxygen february,
Staggers lungs,

Even outside the heaven,
Looks like the atomic bomb.

All people,
Being immersed in the dumps.

Peace and love,
Inhuman mess of today.

The right and law,
Unfair means of tomorrow

Antique gems,
Losing illuminations of February.

Cold evening,
Makes everything beautiful smother

Oxygen February,
Taking us above the world
With spirit

Oxygen February,
A heavy bullet.

Translated by Ermira Babamusta

FEBRUARI OKSIGEN

Februari oksigen,
Mendebar paru-paru.

Kendati di angkasa langit,
Bagaikan bom atom.

Semua makhluk,
Terbenam dalam reba.

Damai dan cinta,
sarap kehaiwanan kini.

Kebenaran dan perundangan,
wadah kesangsian hari esok.

Permata purba,
Kehilangan sinaran Februari.

Senja dingin,
Menyelubungi setiap keindahan.

Februari oksigen,
Membawa kita ke angkasa
Dengan semangat.

Februari oksigen,
Peluru yang cekal.

EATEN MOON ON THE LAKE

Sadness captivates my eyes
a lunar appearance drifts upon my skin.

I am cold
cold as ice.

It’s freezing,
no place to warm up,
standing alone at the lake.

Cold autumn
My soul is like the eaten moon on the lake.-

Translated by Ermira Babamusta

SISA BULAN DI PERMUKAAN TASIK

Kepiluan mengaburi mataku
kehadiran rembulan meresapi

Aku kedinginan
sejuk bagaikan ais.

Kian membeku,
tiada tempat pendiangan,
bersendirian di pinggir tasik.

Musim gugur yang dingin
Jiwaku bagai sisa bulan di permukaan tasik.
