MY BROTHER’S KEEPER / Poem by Stella L. Luna

Poem by Stella L. Luna

MY BROTHER’S KEEPER

There’s the two of us
In all of God’s army
In all of God’s saints
There’s nobody else
Walking righteously
All have fallen away.
.
There’s the two of us
That nobody knows
That nobody cares
They all become blind
Walking like zombies
They’ve been dead for awhile.
.
There’s the two of us
The one’s left standing
The one’s left fighting
The one’s ready to die
So that they may be saved
And the lost shall be found.
.
There’s the two of us
Who looks at our backs
Who lift each one up
Who carry each other’s cross.
Who stands as watchman
So that no one gets tired
So none will be left behind.
.
There’s just you and me
The one’s who run the race
The one’s who cross the finish line
There’s a Crown of Righteousness
Waiting for the overcomer
A Medal of Honor, blessed forever.
