THE MIRROR / Poem by Joanna Svensson

Poem by Joanna Svensson

The mirror doesn’t lie
It only tells you
What it sees
It doesn’t see
Your inner beauty
It sees only
Your painted face

The mirror never lies
About your appearence
It can never feel
What you really think
It can never sense
What you really feel
Or who
you really are

It only reflects
Created by you
or someone else
The one
You maybe want to be
The one
You were told
That you looked like

But deep inside
We all know
That the picture
In the mirror
Can be decieveful

But when night
Finally approaches
And colours fade
And fall apart
After a hard day
You face the mirror
And finally finally
The mirror sees you
The final shape
Unpaisted – clean
Just like God’s Created you!
