Poems by Asoke Kumar Mitra

Two owls sit on the windowpane
The night is young and forbidden

It is the beginning of another day
The barking of dog’s echoed in the darkness

A fist of unfinished desire swallowed the moon
The sound of falling leaves of winter

Flapping wings of owls churning out the memories
A strange blurred picture of your eyes

A passionate wintry night’s hungry moon
Lonely, vacant abyss of silence

Memories in neon lights
Searching my lost poems

Let’s Forget…

My face will fade away one day
From memory of yours
Will be still and silent

Long back your hands discovered
All the secrets of my poem
You pulled me in the strong winds

A full bloom hallucination
Bleeding rainbows
Raindrops and teardrops

Windy wintry night
Dumping the grief in your lips
Fragrances of wildflowers

A runaway kid in the winter rain…

A Dream…

You picked up a flower filled with morning dew
Wrote a poem in the sky
Hidden stars were with you

Your heart played softly
With the melody of my soul
Inhaling me silently

You are in the tangle of memories
A morning cloud about to rain
A full bloom hallucination

I breathe your unspoken space
Moon will not rise tonight
Will appear in your dreams

Sky bleeds rainbows
Timeless silences build, now turn
Turn to the dream again and again

Pollinated reflections of fugitive night…
You whispered,
