THE COTTAGE

He found his way into the mountains
Snow caps and all and a cottage below the peaks
It didn’t seem so far away
But vanished and reappeared
It happened again and again
He was wandering all the ups and downs
And wondering whether he might be
On a path which wasn’t as safe as he thought

Then maybe – maybe at the sunset
While the giver of life was inflaming the sky and clouds
He thought he was doomed
for painting the canvas of the mountains
Only to erase it with darkness that had fallen
from the height of the universe
Wiping out every colorful image
Bringing on cold and death

In the morning it shines again
As though there hasn’t been a night or darkness
Or even a yesterday either
He, or another self, that pretends to be him
Is on the way again into the mountains
Is meeting green, green grass and flowers in yellow and blue
Is listening to the whisper of distant falls and busy bees
Happy since there hasn’t been a word about the cottage – yet.

PONDOK

Kerna melukis pemandangan gunung-ganang
Hanya untuk memadamnya dengan kegelapan yang menyelubungi
Dari ketinggian cakerawala
Menyapu bersih semua imej berwarna
Membawa kedinginan dan kematian.

Paginya semua bersinar semula
Seolah-olah seperti tiada malam atau kegelapan
Maupun semalam
