Exile / Poem by Lali Tsipi Michaeli

Poem by Lali Tsipi Michaeli

At the edge of existence is a blue sea
That you walk on its shore alone
The happiness that never existed
Suddenly disappears from your life
I also hear the voice of
The call of the seagulls
At dawn
There will be a few more virgins in Bikini
And will dot the burning sand
The moist air will touch our nostrils and you
Whisper to me in the language of water
The ignorance
That preyed upon by life

If with this man
I could have escaped into my life

*HAYATI = MY LIFE (in Arabic)
