SILENCE GROWS…

Silence grows into your eyes
An antique sky and this winter
The smell of wild fragrance surrounds
Remembering your footsteps on the
Wet cobblestone paths around

Memories never go away like butterflies
Your whisper, quite as the winter
A violin plays in the distance,
Memories pulled from the rubble
Turned into secret songs

The moonlight that never fades
Shared by lovers only
An ancient blue cave in the forgotten dreams
The silence whispered in the wintry wind
Silence grows all alone…

(C) Asoke Kumar Mitra, January 2021

WEEPING VIOLIN…

You playing a tune of weeping violin
Sad tears from the eyes
Silently flowing like a tiny river

At a distance playing with the blue ballon
Above the crescent moon
Inside the rubble of time

Buried the forgotten day’s shattered dreams left behind
Waves crashing at your feet
And the blue sky beyond

Orphan sounds all around
Wind blows cold
Forgotten days when we walked as strangers…

(C) Asoke Kumar Mitra, February 2021
