Poem by Margaret Kowalewska

***

I came to you
like a spring
with hair combed
by the colours
of a whistling wind,
carrying flowers
in my heart
scented with love..
I came to you
to share
the renewal
on the earth,
and the faith
in your dreams
among clusters
of lilac embraced
with the spasms
of opening buds..
I came to you
to show you
the beauty
of the world,
and give you
the taste
of aphrodisiac wine
flooding the air,
teasing your mind..
I came to you
so you can feel
that you are
desired and loved
when the spring
spills the kiss
on your breath
leaving an imprint of love,
in every season
of the year..
