Promises / Poem by Lily Swarn

Poem by Lily Swarn

Promises

When each leaf looks like a flower
Suffusing manna of the life force

Each blade of joyous grass
Greener than a mossy stone
Grape, gourd or lemony lime

It’s the season of bountiful plenty
Injecting hope in withering bodies

When prayers rise up in tidal waves
Where clouds cry in copious curves

Heal this universe O Supreme Being Promise we’ll be as humans must be
