That flower never judged me / Poem by Margaret Kowalewka

Poem by Margaret Kowalewka

That flower never judged me

There was a flower in the garden
drinking few drops of rain
It was just there
Not demanding
Modestly standing
midst the emerald strands,
enjoying raindrops

And carefully sipping
one by one,
the nectar of rainbows
from the divine

There was a flower
that never judged me
and never bullied me
when I was a child

Only tenderly smiled
with the warm blue eyes
accepting my virtues and flaws
everytime

That flower knew
how to love
I realize that
It was sent by God

The winter came with an icy chill
and the flower was gone
But it left imprints of the summer
on the shadows of my soul
