Poem by Madhu Gangopadhyay
Of Belief and Love
She sits on nature’s floral carpet
Beneath the chandelier sky
The queen of the dark
Spreads its golden glow
A silvery haze so bright!
The barren trees never mope
Await spring with undying hope
Such a lover on an early winter eve
For the beloved festoon weaves!
The nippy wind along with it brings,
Memories of those love laced days
Across the hills and the rows of pines,
The waft of cedar come to embrace!
With gleaming eyes and parched lips
She awaits her lover, his silhouette she perceives,
She hears him in the whispering puff
In his fondness she reposes belief!
For him she shall brave the night and cold
Like an enchantress in her bosom, him she shall hold
Be it winter’s frost or summer’s shine
With him she shall script her love story divine!
