Poem by Ibrahim Honjo

THIS NIGHT

This night is softer than any I can remember
somebody has separated it with the colors of fireworks
turning into bouquets of wildflowers
creating peace in my soul

I will gladly give you those bouquets

the sky is not visible in the darkness
stars hide deep inside me
extinguishing its soft light
from which I built a castle to my fire queen

my carriage is here somewhere
a little more and I will go out of my own heart
in the shell of solitude to bring down strange dreams
I wrote a poem about the waterfall
a bird will fly from its depths
into the unfathomable spaces of the seventh constellations

you are not here
so, it cannot land in your eyes
and awaken the light in you that you may light me up
