Poem by Fuad İSMAİLZADEH (AZERBAİJAN)

***

If I would want to lift you
Belive me, I can’t do this.
How can I heal you?
Oh… alone… lonely tree.
Wall, which you lean on, has fallen,
Wind … blowing to the right … and left
Has got tired you.
Your branches have got autumn
On claw of winter and snow…
Each of your leaves … is a memory.
My poetic heart … is close to you
Oh my … proudly, high mountain,
How can I look to … your last breath…
…. to your torment.
How can I endure to your fate.
Oh poor, hot coals, no flame,
When hearing voice of moaning…
There is nobody … for hugging …
Oh my high mountain.
How can I look to your breaking down
How can I suffer this pain…
…this moaning… in my heart.
…seeing you… doesn’t see
… smile of your eyes …
… the heart kept silent with last feelings
… faded … like the burning leafe by leafe …
the dream…and the wish …closed the eyes.
