Once I tried to immerse the idol of your memory with an aching heart,
But couldn’t throw it into the river of oblivion with a grieving heart.
Some cherished moments create a beauteous canvas laminated with love–
Colourful dreams of a lifetime that make me hum a tune with a beating heart.
Unbidden thoughts come like a large number of fish that flow to the shores with waves,
A breaking point for me– why do the waves pull back– I think with a heaving heart.
Flamingo – peach streaks merge with a crimson evening sky– you come and call my name,
Oh, the sunset mind — a kaleidoscope of emotions and a bleeding heart!
A stroll down memory lane, Ranjana, to hear some voices; see the faces,
I see the slanting rays and the lengthening shadows with a lingering heart!
