RESURRECTED LOVE! / Poem by Madhu Gangopadhyay

Poem by Madhu Gangopadhyay
Deception in carmine costume,
Empty seats of a night show!
The actors left, applaud bereft,
The light casts a sanguine shadow!
Who would dress a barren dream?
Embellish life’s arid stream?
Once when the sun glowed gold
Ebony skies passion did unfold!
Now all, a vision of the past!
Sunny days only shadows cast!
The fragrant jasmine at night,
Fails to invoke love’s delight!
The crimson seat where love once bloomed
Deserted, aching, ominous silence looms!
Yet the scarlet setting so picture perfect,
The evident death of love rejects!
Once again resurrected love,
Would pour claret draped in ruby gloves!
