Dear Eyes / Poem by Sunita Paul

Poem by Sunita Paul
Dear Eyes
Dear Eyes,
Hope you realise!
The hidden truth and the bitter lies
Those fake people in beautiful disguise
Dear Eyes,
Stop reading between the lines
Don’t pretend to smile and show all’s fine
You are intoxicating like a glass of old wine
The gleam in you is all divine
Dear Eyes,
You have seen it all
Be it a gigantic error or a good deed so small
The proud rise and the mighty fall
In you lies the memories I can recall
Dear Eyes,
When you shut down forever
Do me a little favour
Let me donate you to a needy whoever
With a hope to survive in your this kind endeavour
