Poems by Asoke Kumar Mitra

A sandcastle on the sea shore
Begins to speak to the sea
Conch and sea shells scattered
The waves come,about to demolish

Goodbye is not a great exit word
Fugitive lonely setting sun drifting
Someplace unknown
Over the sea, night falls
Mystery unfolds… the moment comes suddenly

The laughter of sea waves
The waves come,demolish the castle
A void in our heart
In this lazy night,everything vanished
Broken into two,time walked away

Stopped moving
A nude moon alone, ascending the stairs of sky

(C)Asoke Kumar Mitra, March, 2019

Memories never go away
When you first came
Under our antique sky
You whispered your secret

Our hearts were melting
A candle deep inside
Beyond the blue sea and grey mountain
Lips and eyes
The fireflies glowed in the night

Our way to an unknown island
A mystery story
Hidden behind a waterfall
This midnight hour
Under the shadow of the quiet moon

We surrendered
Became strangers again
In the rebellious wind

(C)Asoke Kumar Mitra, March 2019

Beyond the mountain is the silent exile
Colour of insanity on the scattered stone
The moon will not rise tonight, only clouds
Rivers run within the broken rocks

Countless fireflies, with agony in the heart
In your eyes footprints of the lazy moon.

Thirsty night
Touch my hands
Meaningless empty memory,
Left by passion’s trail
Silence down the mountain rock

Wounded lazy moon
In exile
