DON’T SHED TEARS – Ibrahim Honjo / From the book “Enigma from the Stone” Publish America, 2010

Poem by Ibrahim Honjo

DON’T SHED TEARS

Why did you fall asleep shedding tears
They will evaporate
And you will remain her trace
On the pillow of memory
Don’t shed tears
Don’t fall asleep in tears
Or with tears
In this frozen November night
Decorated with celestial tears
Sparkling like memories
Turned into a dream

Wake up Tear
Leaf through memories
Wrinkled like brows of exhausted women
Do we really need mirrors
To see ourselves better in yellowish light

I have no time for tears and memories
It runs out drowsily
We expected old urges to awaken
About life and its beauty
Hug and kiss what you have
Because there is no more time
And it will be there less and less
