LOVE’S SONNETS / Poem by Maria Miraglia

Poem by Maria Miraglia

Verse after verse
the words, their meanings
slowly proceed gently
as light winds from the south
in a lovely spring day
and fill the heart
of sweet promises

They come from distant lands
crossed rivers and mountains
survived the time
in their joyous, vulnerable sides
of love

But seem whispered in the ear
now, in the silence
and I can also hear
their sound
the cadence of the poet’s voice
who wrote them
