Poem by Jagdish Prakash

Poem by Jagdish Prakash

***

I hear the sound of music,
An old song from childhood years
You listened on 78 rpm record, years back
You croon again when you lie in bed
This February night.
Night is thick and dark
Wind is sleeping in the arms of tender spring leaves
Caressed by fragrance of night queen;
Memories keep calling
Over this song in waves of nostalgia.
You keep mumbling the words, repeating them again and again
Till the eyes search for
a dream is concluded
With a wish for a day
Full of song and sunshine!
