Poem by Margaret Kowalewska
Offering In Spring
The sun rays ever so gentle
spilling liquid gold on my face
bringing a grin to the lips
of the smiling world
glad that the cold wind flew away
flapping its wings
My offering to your beautiful soul
is a handful of my dreams,
the blossoms which danced
on the branches of cherry trees
in the orchard where love played
hide and seek and found you
The skies of your eyes
kissing moist flower clusters
Your breath entangled
with the spring branches of your reveries
in the golden nest where the sun
is weaving chemistry of love
Surrounded by all that beauty
your thirsty lips
drinking fragrance of the spring
I see your face bathing in
the fluttering wings
of butterflies tinted pink
And I am jealous
of the euphoric petals
caressing your face
in my desire to be one of them
I wonder secretly now
if your sacred heart
is thinking of me
with the coming of spring
in the pink reverie
Am I the spring of your dreams?
Am I your love in the everlasting spring?
