Poem by Narsing Bongu Rao
The Complete Picture
(Dedicated to Eden S. Trinidad on her birthday – 05.04.2022)
The fresh blossom,
proudly presents itself as a ‘flower’,
a bee hovers all over the flower,
the flower shall pass off,
but the bee shall sustain,
the sky has wrapped
a blue drape over it,
rippling in the gentle breeze.
The stream still passes
by my little cottage,
surrounded by the rocks,
that are witness of time,
the bee lifts its head,
from the bed of swaying grasses
humming into a chorus.
It is time for the Sun
to sink into the horizon,
strange is the atmosphere that prevails,
it is now time for the Moon,
to sneak in like a thief,
there, the stars have started
with their orchestra,
pulling a young couple into the picture,
mother nature sings lullabies,
as the lovers keep swinging gently,
from end to end,
everything shall fade into
the beautiful early morning lights.
