Poems by Lily Swarn
Living in lopsided locales of lust
Did you hanker for the elusive eel of love ?
Diving in demented draughts of debauchery
Did you whisper mantras in halls of mercy ?
Flying in feathers of fluttering flamingoes
Did you soar high on wings of blessings ?
Groveling in ghettoes of gruesome grime
Did you ache for prayers of penance ?

Thwarted Dreams
As you wait in the frost bitten
Cavern of my thwarted dreams
I propel the dizzy aircraft of life
Into the magnetic azure
The open arms
Of the rolling skies
Pull me into their
profound vastness
Promising a sleep of “shanti “
The elusive peace that the
Orient offers the world
On the banks of the Ganges
And the caves of the Himalayas
I snuggle deeper under the quilt
In the autumnal hues of life
