What the war leaves (to Ukraine) / Poem by Susana Roberts

Poem by Susana Roberts

What the war leaves
(to Ukraine)

Those jumping vapors
that from Kiev
catch e illuminate a
consecutive, pitiful and uneducated
disdain in the solitude of this breeze.

They will be memories on ice
the flash of the sun on the grass
the merciless evacuation
the devastation left by a war
And the saddest silences

Good and evil
The blue of a deep sea
A sky tearing apart in combat
And the civilized exploited

Peace agreements fail.
