World Poetry Canada International will observe 24 Hour Peace-a-thon

World Poetry Canada and International will commemorate a 24 hour peace-a-thon worldwide on September 21, 2015 in Vancouver,Canada headed by its founding director Ariadne Sawyer. The celebration is in line with the United Nations’ International Peace Day which is annually celebrated on 21st of September.
According to the UN’s press release, ‘’The General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples.’’
This year’s theme is “Partnerships for Peace – Dignity for All” which aims to highlight the importance of all segments of society to work together to strive for peace.’’
WPCI will highlight the event’s peace project by making poetry, poetry vine, art, music, dance, photography, and films in a historical 24-hour series of peace activities with registered entries from group and individual partners from Canada, Africa, the Middle East, the Americas, China, Mongolia, Philippines, Greece, Italy and other international partners.
