Poem by Monika Ajay Kaul
The dizzy loitering mauve sky
slowly wanes into the shadow.
A performance at the end of the day.
As the scintillating stars
silhouette into the twilight.
The wind twitches and quivers
sometimes mumble, sometimes roar.
Tiresome day sleepily wishes to retire.
For few the time to repose arrives,
to let go the rigidity of dainty bones.
The chaos of the slaving day finally lolls.
The city of shimmery faux lights
subtly alters to virgin self.
With a bewitching silence and secrecy,
the seductress night arrives.
