Poems by Syedah Maryam Iqbal
What we see!
On the surface, smooth waters,
Underneath a warfare, a flood, a storm.
You never know when the mood alters,
And the smoothness starts to deform.
What we see, cannot believe,
For what appears reality can deceive.
Life is so short to perceive, believe and achieve,
That we should always be prepared to heave.
Constant Wait, Maybe
Dark shadows, mournful skies,
The benevolence of Nature is under disguise,
Living kind waits tirelessly for allies,
Considering itself quite unwise.
The gloomy eyes of Nature have many undisclosed secrets
Which, they may devise to reveal or otherwise,
Prolong the wait for exposition till the world’s demise.
