POET PRIEST (On World Poetry Day) / Poem by Radhey Shyam Varshney

Poem by Radhey Shyam Varshney

(On World Poetry Day)

Poet priest
Priest poet
Poet and Priest
Priest versus Poet

One may be joint together
Poet becoming Poet-priest
Priest becoming Priest-poet.

One may become another
From poet to priest; from priest to poet.
One may be different from other
Having separate existence altogether.

All depends
From whom one is directed?
For what?
In writing, composing, saying and communicating poesy
And contents, subject, object, theme in his poesy.

When invoked by Him
Both fuse/blend in one
To be remembered by every one
Despite of having gone in hibernation
They surface with acclamation again and again.

Otherwise neither poet nor priest one is
Despite of tall claims and declaration in vanity
Thrown both they are in dust
Even in their lifetime in ignominy
