“THE BLIND MAN” / By SILVANO BORTOLAZZI – President U.M.P

“THE BLIND MAN”

Ten years ago a blind man, that I had never seen before, was shouting from half an hour in the big square of a big city: – “help me I am a blind and I’m lost”. There were at least two hundred people in the square around him and nobody helped him. The man was desperate and had lost his voice for his cries. He was crying. I was horrified in front of so much human cruelty. I went to him and said to him: – “tell me what I can do for you” and he replied: – “thank you for coming to my rescue, I was waiting for you. I ask you only if you can find my bus, if you can wait it with me making me climb on it”. After 40 minutes the bus came and I helped him to climb by taking him by the arm. He cried, hugged me and thanking me. Remember: “We were not born to think only of ourselves. God sees us and will judge us all for what we have done in the course of our lives to our neighbor”.
