Yes I am a liar / Poem by Sunita Paul

Poem by Sunita Paul

Yes I am a liar

Yes I am a liar,
I said lies ,
When I was a kid
To save my cousins and friends from their misdeeds.

Yes I am a liar,
I said lies,
When I was in my teenage
To keep safe my parents respect ,as I just opened my life’s first love page.

Yes I am a liar,
I said lies,
When I was a blooming bud
To forget the molestation gift given by some relatives, teachers and to wash off all the dirty mud.

Yes I am a liar,
I said lies,
When I got married
To keep my parents happy even if it costs my dreams to get buried.

Yes I am a liar,
I said lies,
To my cancer affected mom in her sickbed
I said she is fine to stop her from feeling dead.

Yes I am a liar,
I said lies,
To my husband dear
For some bitter truths may break his soul I fear.

Yes I am a liar,
I said lies ,
To the love of my life
To save him from many grief or strife.

Yes I am a liar,
I said lies,
Many a times to one and all
To protect my loved ones ,to save them from any down fall.

Yes I am a liar,
I am still saying lies
I will be going on saying lies
Because I know some bitter and harsh truths
Will cause a pain and break many hearts
I say lies to my broken soul too
Lies may lead me to the truthful goal
So don’t preach and ask me to say truth always
If needed,I will say lies till i die ,for others happiness.
