FORGETTING / Poem by Asoke Kumar Mitra

Poems by Asoke Kumar Mitra

The wind howls and bangs at my shut door
The rain takes off her yellow raincoat
Her infinite rain-soaked dreamy eyes
Syllables of fear, love, and tenderness

Crumpled times, we voyage through
A long night and fatigue,
Swallowed black fugitive clouds
We see an open wound

Our shadows running into the rainy winds
We rub shoulders, we walk to the edge of silence
This endless circling, madness wrapped in rain
You and I, love fall to dust…

(C)Asoke Kumar Mitra, September, 2020.
