Sabre Toothed / Poem by Lily Swarn

Poem by Lily Swarn

Sabre Toothed

It pierced through my aura
This Sabre toothed icicle

Hanging tenaciously
By barren bare branches

It’s translucent heart frozen
With memories of flaming fall

Sunbeams played an aria
On its taut gleaming body

Soft hearts transform into stony pincers
Like malleable snow morphs into
Frosty chilled ice

Harpooned forever with an unkind cut
The back stabbing one that Brutus knew of !
