POETRY CHRONICLES OF CAROLINE NAZARENO
Caroline Nazareno a.k.a. Ceri Naz is a multi-awarded poet, editor, journalist, public speaker, linguist, educator and women’s advocate.
She won several International Prizes including The Frang Bardhi Literary Prize 2014 in Albania, the sair-gazeteci ( Poet Journalist Award 2014) in Tuzla, Istanbul, Turkey and the World Poetry Empowered Poet 2013 in Vancouver, Canada. Her poetry have been published and featured in various anthologies and magazines worldwide.
Recently, she was chosen as World Poetry International Director to Philippines by the World Poetry Canada and International. She will be part of the WP projects which can be a ‘’Peace Poetathon, Peace Block Party, Peace short films, Peace art work, Peace photography, Peace plays or theatre, peace chain poems, peace music and anything that can promote peace during a 24 hour period on September 21st.’’
Part of her mission is to promote Pangasinan, her province and all other protected cultural heritage of her country Philippines. The prestigious ‘’poetic belts’’ she passionately gained are humbly dedicated to her family, Urduja which she recalls as one of her legend icons in Pangasinan, to her Alma Mater Pangasinan State University-Bayambang where she annually gives Ceri Naz Literary Award and Academic Excellence Award, to the women of the world, to all Overseas Filipino Workers, and to the emerging new and starving artists in the Philippines.
She stressed in one of her literary interviews, ‘’Each one of us is empowered to write and express our inner voices through poetry and other art forms; indeed a task to carry on to be real inspiration and paramount movers of legendary evolution of the human race. The true essence of POETS WITHOUT BORDERS!’’
Ceri Naz will be one of the Committee Directors in the upcoming projects of WORLD FESTIVAL OF POETRY ( Mundial Festival Poesia De Palabra) in November this year which will be held in Lingayen, Pangasinan which is considered as one of the 7000 poetic sanctuaries of the world.
Aside from her poetic journeys, she is also an official member of The Association for Women’s Rights in Development (AWID) . ‘’It is an international, feminist, membership organization committed to achieving gender equality, sustainable development and women’s human rights. A dynamic network of women and men around the world, AWID members are researchers, academics, students, educators, activists, business people, policy-makers, development practitioners, funders, and more’’
Currently, she writes for the Philippine Canadian Inquirer, Our Poetry Archive e-journal featuring International Poets of The Month and contributes to the Reflection Magazine.
