POEMS BY DR. NK SHARMA
O C T E T
Suckle with blood love’s dart,
art in heart — heart in art.
Unforeseeable, feral, potent force
endorses His writ, keeps on course.
We are blessed with His largesse
so, love all and do not digress.
Have this idea as ideal and Idol
imprint on self this love-symbol.
To darken skin tone, angels never willed;
trying a beauty-spot, the ink got spilled.
Who says black is not beautiful?
Move closer to see heart love-full.
To be dusky is no cardinal sin.
Go, blame the villain melanin.
Go, not for poles of silver and ebony
love both shades which souls embody.

To love without reason
in and out of season
is no moral treason.
Rings no caller’s bell
nor paves road to hell
immune to death-knell.*
It is a free flowing breeze
not a frigid frieze,**
a golden chance to seize.
Love’s call love resounds
in boundless wealth abounds
making Universes go on rounds.
* an event that indicates the end of something
** ornamental carved border

E M B R A S S E R (Fr: kiss)
O dear, what incites searing tear?
Tense is peer, my peeress dear.
Bless me bliss with petalled kiss,
such moments, you must not miss.
Can’t lessen Time’s galloping gait
but, paradisal love I profess my mate.
Let kiss, kisser, kissed be one
momentous laurels to have won.

Pleasure — PARADIGM
To heart brimful with cheer
near or far is ever dear,
to sorrow-sodden eyes
mirror h a z i l y replies.
A cheery, merry mind
wins plaudits of all kind.
Go, adopt a happy stance
and be nonpareil instance.
