Poem by Alicia Minjarez Ramírez
WHEN I CLOSE MY EYES
To: My beloved angel.
Which heaven
looks out for you
when the rain is over?
From abandonment and shelter
supporting the spell
of the Euphrates breeze,
I watch over your name.
Grabbed to the shadow
I want to dissent
over our steps,
call blunting
the five hours
of birds.
The universe
starts and ends
with us…
When I close my eyes.
